The energy from our Swing Dance community was absolute magic last weekend at Milwaukee’s Oktoberfest! Lindy Hop MKE was invited by Kegel’s Inn, Julian Kegel, to take the stage at their annual event and share our vintage rhythm at a classic MKE festival at the Henry Maier Festival Park! The weather was perfect, the food was amazing, the beer was cold and the dancing was the highlight!
Paté and Lisa led a group of dancers in two Flash Mob dance takeovers throughout the fest. The first one was at their Main Stage pavilion and the second at the Bavarian Beer Garden. The performers danced the ever-popular Shim Sham routine, Frankie’s Big Apple, and finished with some classic social dancing. It was a perfect way to get Milwaukee’s swing dance community together and a big thank you to Kegel’s Inn for making days like this possible!
The best part? The organizers have already invited Lindy Hop MKE back for next year! See you in October 2027, Prost!
